We are people people, a US emergency room nurse and an Ecuadorian guide, teamed up and turned HOSTEL OWNERS and TOUR PROVIDERS in the Amazon. What does this mean for you? Comfort in the jungle and quality tours! Our tours can take you to places you'd never find alone and the hotel reflects what we wanted for ourselves and experienced in other places around the world. The rooms are spacious and clean. The showers are hot and the water is good. There are screens on the windows and fans in every room. There’s a big common kitchen to cook your own food in or just be able to hang out in. That in combination with a helping hand to get you up to speed on the area will smooth your transition to maximize the time you have here in this little corner of the world. Private rooms have shared patios to the walled in back garden. There is also a BBQ grill for anyone wanting to use it!
Activities
See our tours pages for a bunch of area tours and even one touring Ecuador for 15 days. Area tours that we offer include: caving, a hike to a beautiful waterfall, a visit with the playful Capuchin monkeys that hang out on a river beach, a dusk lagoon float, a motor canoe trip up and down the Napo River to a chocolate and chicha making demonstration that can also be combined with a trip to an amazing butterfly farm and an animal rehab center on the same river, and an overnight jungle tour that includes the chocolate and chicha making demo, a day hike through primary rain forest, a night jungle walk, and a dawn bird watching tour at a lodge out there on that same river. We also offer river trips, we need a minimum of 4 for rafting, though any number of participants can go inflatable kayaking. We go on the rockin', class 3+, Jatunyaku for big waves and big fun or the calm Anzu River for more of a float, with small or no rapids. Please note that the kayaks have 2 seats and we provide a guide for each boat. Our guests do not need to know how to kayak! Our guides will man the boats, our guests can just enjoy the ride. (This is really a blast!)
Food & Drink
An optional basic breakfast may be ordered by 8 pm the night before for $2 per person. This includes a juice, 2 boiled eggs or 2 raw eggs you cook yourself or 1/2 cup of chochos (a local legume), real coffee or tea, a roll, and bread, butter, and homemade jelly. Unprocessed (except for our boiling it) milk may be purchased for 25 cents a cup extra.
Other meals: There are a few restaurants within 5-10 minutes walking from the hotel and a lot more within 15-20 minutes walking (or a 5 minute, $1.25 taxi ride). We have a number of menus hanging in the common kitchen. One of them is a menu for a pizza place (with a lot of other food like spaghetti, chicken, etc) that will deliver for free if the order is for $10 or more. We will call in the order for you! We provide all guests with suggestions for the restaurants we like and a map showing how to get there.

We have good wi-fi, gratis.
Parking
We have 2 spots available in the garage, they are first come first serve (or first reserved). There is also parking in front of the hotel. We feel comfortable parking outside as well.

We ask that our guests respect other guests in regard to noise level and with cleaning up the kitchen and any dishes they use immediately after preparing food.
There is a guest washer and dryer. The rule there is that any clothes left in either be placed in the basket to the side. Please don't dry any clothes left in the washing machine by another guest. Also, please don't dry tennis shoes in the dryer.
We will not answer the door after 9 pm for anyone arriving without a reservation.

Special conditions
One other thing, please note that reception closes at 9 pm. If you will be arriving late, please notify us ahead and we will arrange for you to get a key to let yourselves in upon arrival.
Non-refundable
Groups renting 3 rooms or more, and also guests staying on the monthly rate, pay a 50% deposit to confirm the reservation. This deposit is non-refundable.

Once you make a room reservation, we put a temporary hold on your room/s and you have 48 hrs. to put down a deposit in order to confirm the reservation. A reservation for rooms at the daily rate may be secured with a $50 deposit per private room or $12 per dorm bed, usually paid through PayPal. We just email you a PayPal invoice in that case. You may also pay this through a deposit in our Ecuadorian Banco del Pichincha account or our Wells Fargo account in the US. Except for groups renting more than 3 rooms at a time, the reservation deposit is fully refundable, minus the PayPal fee, if the reservation is cancelled within 7 days of the check in date.
